A message to our Community

March 30th, 2020

Greetings Ramsay Community Members,

Our Word, our Country, our City and our Community has been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

  • We have closed our community facilities, closed city playgrounds, and reduced gatherings,
  • We continue to social distance, self-isolate when necessary, and quarantine when required,
  • We are having tough times, and we need to rely on each other,
  • We reach out to our friends and neighbours to stay connected while being physically apart,
  • We assist those who may require additional assistance or support during this challenging period.
  • We keep the vulnerable and ourselves healthy.

We will get through this, and be a better and stronger community on the other side.

…We are Ramsay, and we ROCK.

On behalf of the RCA Board and myself, please stay safe, secure and healthy.

Greetings Ramsay Community,

At our last RCA General Meeting (March 03), many community members turned out to get an update on the RCA Community Hall.

Our financial future does not look great, and the Board wanted to present the situation to membership and discuss the future if the RCA Hall.

Please see  2020-03-03 RCA General Mtg MINUTES – DRAFT NOT APPROVED

There were plenty of Activity (and Revenue) Increasing Ideas generated at the General Meeting, and provided to the Board following the meeting. These are captured here: GM Feedback Summary 2020-03-03.

The Board has reviewed the minutes and summary comments several times, and continues to meet to discuss the future of the Hall.

We are committed to find a solution that works in the best interest of the Community Association, and to serve Ramsay.

Playground CLOSURE! EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

March 24th, 2020

Effectively immediately, all playgrounds in Calgary are not to be used.

This includes the playgrounds at City parks, and all community associations.

This is to reduce the spread of COVID-19 via playground equipment surfaces.

Signs will be posted by Calgary Parks in the next day or so, along with yellow caution tape.

IMPORTANT: RAMSAY COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION FACILITIES – CLOSED IMMEDIATELY

March 17th, 2020

Ramsay Community Association Members, Ramsay Community

In the Provinces efforts to curb the spread of Covid-19 / corona virus, the Premier has just announced that all community facilities, including community associations and casinos, are to close immediately.

As such, the Ramsay Community Association Hall, Rink and Skate Shack are closed, and will remain closed until further notice.

These new measures are necessary to limit the spread of the virus. Currently, we do not have a timeline for reopening. We are in close contact with both municipal and provincial government representatives and will keep you updated as best we can. The Board of Directors are working to make the necessary decisions to ensure the safety of your staff, volunteers, and residents.

We are in unprecedented times in our lives and our top priority is the health and safety of our family, friends and community members. We must do our part to flatten the curve and give our health care system and workers the best chance to get us through this.

I encourage everyone to check in on neighbours or if help is needed please reach out to us, we will do our best to get you what’s needed. We will continue to post updates on our website and social media outlets. As officials and retailers have stated grocery stores will remain open and over stocking on household goods and food is not necessary, our food chain supply is not at risk.

We are very grateful for our community and the help that many have been offering.

We all have a role to play to combat the spread of the Corona virus Covid-19

Practice social distancing as well as increase hygiene and sanitation steps.

At this difficult time I urge all Ramsay community neighbours and all Calgarians to stay safe and well.

Reach out to our vulnerable community members who may need additional support and assistance.

We are a strong and resilient community. We will endure.
