The Stampede’s Sarah Stall sent the following info about the Elbow Riverbank Clean-up that’s happening today:
The Elbow River needs a little spring cleaning!
On Wednesday, May 30 at 11:30 a.m. join Stampede employees, volunteers and other members of the Ramsay community to clean up the banks of the Elbow River around Stampede Park.
Let’s show Calgary how we embody our pride of place by collecting garbage along the banks of the river.
The 12 cleanup sites are located between MacDonald Bridge and Erlton LRT station. Teams will have one hour to clean up their designated areas between 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Then join your team for door prizes, Centennial celebration cake with the Cake Posse and a BBQ beginning at 12:30 p.m. on the Grandstand tarmac.
Garbage bags and rubber gloves will be supplied, but please remember to dress for mucky conditions: rubber boots or running shoes and clothes you aren’t afraid to get dirty in.
To sign up and for more information, please contact Sarah Stall at 403.261.0487 or sstall@calgarystampede.com
