The Ramsay Civic Affairs Committee addresses planning, development, and traffic issues that affect the community of Ramsay. Our members come from all walks of life and we share a common goal: to uphold the values of inner-city living.

Ramsay is unique. The community is within walking distance to downtown. The Scotsman Hill and the Elbow River form a geographic boundary. There are some of the most beautiful heritage homes in Calgary that date from the turn of the previous century. There are matured trees and sidewalks. There still exist old fashioned corner stores. There are some of the most interesting streetscapes in Calgary, with architectural styles ranging from heritage to contemporary. There are parks, a roofed skating rink, two ball diamonds, and a soccer field. There is the lovely Ramsay elementary School that was built in 1913 -- a result of a petition by residents.

Civic Affairs always welcomes new members. Our membership is steadily growing - a reflection of our community's strong interest in planning and traffic issues. Thank you to all of the volunteers without whom's efforts the many good things accomplished over the years would not be possible. Please contact the Chair of the committee if you would like to join Civic Affairs at
