Ramsay and Natural Step

February 25th, 2012

Calgary, Ottawa, February 23, 2012—

The Natural Step Canada is thrilled to announce its selection of Calgary’s Ramsay Community Association to help them create a sustainable neighbourhood plan through the Sustainable Neighbourhood Planning Initiative.

The Natural Step Canada is developing a new resource to help community associations, neighbourhood groups and municipal governments engage members of a neighbourhood in the creation of the sustainable neighbourhood plan. This resource will be piloted with the Ramsay Community Association.

Neighbourhoods are the building blocks of society. They are the places we call home, where we live, work and play. A growing number of community associations and municipal governments are talking about their future of the neighbourhoods and spending time identifying the things they love and what they see in the future.

Tonight, The Natural Step Canada will include this announcement in a presentation they’ll be making at CED’s Global Business Centre.  Natural Step Executive Director, Chad Park, Kevin Cunningham, President of the Ramsay Community Association, and Alderman Gian-Carlo Carra will be on hand and available to talk to the press about this exciting initiative.

When: 5:30-7:30pm, presentations begin at 6:00pm

Where: Global Business Centre, Terrace View Room (5th Floor), 120 8 Ave SE

What: Networking reception with emerging business leaders in sustainability, hosted by  Calgary Economic Development

“We’re excited to be working with the Ramsay Community Association and we look forward to making this new resource available to community associations across the province of Alberta shortly following this initiative,” said Chad Park, Executive Director of The Natural Step Canada. “We all appreciate the generous support from the Alberta Real Estate Foundation, ISL Engineering and Land Services and the Catharine Donnelly foundation.”
