Update on the Bellevue Avenue Fire

August 14th, 2012

Many of you want to know how you can help our fellow Ramsay-ites who were affected by last night’s fire on Bellevue Ave.

Kevin met with some of them today, and we’re waiting to find out exactly what the need is before we take donations.

(We want to make sure that we don’t stockpile goods or money before we can confirm that there is a need for them.)

Stay tuned for more details. As soon as there are new developments, we will announce them.

In the meantime, you can also donate to the Red Cross.

Choose a Project for the 23rd Ave Artwalk

August 13th, 2012

Thanks to your votes, the 23rd Ave Artwalk has received funding!

Now they need your help to choose a project:

Help us spend $1200!

We’re happy to report that, thanks to the many Calgarians who took the time to vote and support our project, the 23rd Avenue Artwalk & Street Celebration has been awarded one of Calgary 2012’s Grassroots Initiative Grants!

In our application, we pledged that:

“We will put our Calgary 2012 grant towards a project that will contribute to the beautification of 23rd Avenue. After all, 23rd Avenue has given us so much – let’s give something back!”

Help us choose a project to celebrate 23rd Avenue.

You can fill out the short survey on the 23rd Ave Artwalk site.

Sam Hester was interviewed today on CBC Calgary’s Homestretch.
