Complete Streets

May 15th, 2013

Screen shot 2013-05-15 at 3.09.21 PM

I came across this great video about complete streets that I had to share. It’s about New York’s implementation of the Dutch bicycle life style. How do you give the car, bike and pedestrian equal rights on the streets? Check it out. They seem to be successful.

Join Us for an Ice Liner Folding Party, this Saturday at the Rink

May 8th, 2013

You may have noticed that the Ramsay rink ice laster longer this last winter. The Recreation Committee installed a liner under the ice, which prevented melting and provided more skating time.

On Saturday May 11 at 1:00pm, we will put the ice liner away until the next skating season.

As you can imagine, the liner is not small, so we could use some help with the moving and folding. It shouldn’t take too long if we have enough people, and  we will provide food and beverages.

Can you give us a hand? If you can help, please contact

Help a Conversation Group in Ramsay

May 1st, 2013

Would you like to help a few newcomers practice their English and help them learn a little about Calgary, too?

Immigrant Services Calgary has organized an ESL Conversation group that meets every Tuesday morning from 9:30 am to 12:00pm at St. Anne’s Korean Catholic Church (910 21 Avenue SE).

The group has a teacher, and they are also looking for help from Ramsay residents. No experience necessary.

If you’d like to help the group with learning and practicing English, please contact Kirstin Blair at or (403) 538-8379
