A message from Regina Chan, Executive Director

As we head into the spring season, the Alexandra Centre Society is preparing food and care package hampers for seniors in our communities.

The Seniors’ Hamper program at the Alexandra Centre Society aims to provide nourishment and activity items and to show care to the elders in our community. Being a small local charity, we are able to work with other local organizations to identify seniors in need; collect donation items for hampers; purchase local products; and assemble and distribute care packages in a personal way that lets recipients know that our collective community cares for their well-being.

Last year, the Alexandra Centre Society distributed 40 care packages in May and 76 Christmas Hampers in December to seniors in East Village, Beltline, Inglewood, and Ramsay. This year, we are hoping to extend our reach and provide more support to elders in our communities.

In the past, we’ve received many handwritten thanks and personal phone calls from recipients to express their gratitude. It is our hope that we can continue to touch the lives of others in the community through this program and other services.

If you wish to donate any non-perishable food items, personal hygiene items, or activity items (such as puzzles, books, DVDs, knitting items, art items, etc.), please contact Sarah at to arrange a time to drop off items. Monetary donations are also graciously accepted on our website. We appreciate your support.
